As technology continues to evolve and advance, the issues that go along with it become challenging more than ever. For many businesses that thrived and survived IT issues, new challenges continue to present major hurdles.

Here are some of the current IT challenges and issues:

  • Business continuity and disaster recovery – admittedly, the COVID-19 pandemic changed the work landscape globally. Although a lot of companies and organizations still believe in the traditional work landscape, they were forced to make improvements to the technology of their systems to ensure continuous operations.
  • Business’ inability to support remote work and infrastructure – following business continuity and disaster recovery, agencies that were able to continue with their business transactions contributed to their ability to adapt and pivot quickly to a remote-working culture. These companies were able to accommodate the drastic change because of their good business infrastructure and robust IT systems in place.
  • Increasing threats in cybersecurity – with the evolving work landscape and the advancement of technologies, the cyber attackers’ tactics in breaching data also becoming more sophisticated. Cybersecurity is not just a concern for individuals and businesses, it is also becoming a concern for federal agencies as more and more attacks are being launched against governments. Government opposers hack into federal agencies’ systems to access information to dismantle government initiatives. Hence, it is important to have comprehensive security safeguards in place.
  • Lack of IT skillset – as technology becomes more advanced and sophisticated, employees’ skill sets tend to be left behind. Companies are not benefiting from the emerging technology from the lack of IT skills from their employees. As a result, it affects the companies’ staff productivity, security, and the overall business process.
  • Lack of innovation and digital transformation – Digital transformation is a strategic initiative to implement new technologies, talents, and processes to improve business operations. As with any other business, staying updated and relevant is key to remaining competitive. If you fail, you will end up losing to your competitors.
